Day 1
Fly from the UK to Amman, where you'll be met and transferred to your Amman hotel for a three night stay.
Day 2
Begin the day with a tour of the capital before heading off to visit Jerash, the Classical city which is almost as impressive as Petra. In the evening you have a cooking lesson teaching you about classical Jordanian cuisine.
Day 3
Head north to the St George Winery to look around their vineyards, see their production process and sample their wares. On the way back to Amman, visit Umm El-Jimal, a significant archaeological site which probably began as a Nabatean trading post.
Day 4
You head down the King's Highway today, stopping at Madaba to admire the mosaics here, the religious significance and views from Mount Nebo, and Kerak Castle, arguably the most imposing and impressive Crusader Castle in the Middle East. Check into your Petra hotel where you spend the next three nights.
Day 5
You have a tour of the ancient city of Petra today, beginning along the Siq Canyon, to the Treasury Tomb and through the heart of the site to the huge Qasr El Bint temple.
Day 6
Head back into the site under your own steam today to explore at your leisure. This evening head off to Petra Kitchen, a fun-filled evening run by locals where you're taught more about Jordanian cooking and get to eat the fruits of your labour afterwards.
Day 7
Start the day driving back along part of the Kings Highway over the stunning Mujib Gorge, before descending to the shores of the Dead Sea, via the informative Panoramic Complex, to your Dead Sea hotel where you spend the final two nights of the tour.
Day 8
At leisure to relax by the pool, take some spa treatments or perhaps visit the nearby site of Christ's baptism at Bethany-on-the-Jordan. In the evening, for something a bit different, take a lesson in Italian cooking and pizza making at the Jordan Valley Marriott.
Day 9
You have a transfer back to Amman Airport today for your flight back to the UK.

Culinary excellence and variety are perhaps not the first things that leap to mind when you think of a trip to Jordan. However, happily, there are a handful of different and unique ways to get to grips with local cooking (and wine production!) and make this a feature of your time in Jordan – as well of course, taking in the stunning and spectacular sights the country is so famous for.

As you travel around the country you’ll not only learn the story’s behind the iconic sights of Jordan, but also the origins of traditional Jordanian dishes and the key skills in order to recreate them at home.
